MOBILES NOVEMBER EXPLORATION

THE CALDER GAME The Calder Game is a book written by Blue Balliett, along with Chasing Vermeer and The Wright 3. A seemingly important object that keeps coming up in the book is a piece of art called a mobile. Although the book was fictional, mobiles are real artworks created by Alexander Calder. I explored into these as my exploration of the month.

WHAT ARE MOBILES? Mobiles are a type of art, created by Alexander Calder from around 1930 to Then and now, the sculptures he made are considered inventive and creative. These sculptures not only had interesting designs created in primary colors, but also moved around. These moving pieces of art could not only possibly be created with pieces of abstract sculpture but also everyday or unusual objects. These artworks amazed lots of people.
