ACTION PLAN

Long Term Goals Adopt 21 st Century teaching approaches to enhance students’ knowledge about Geography.

Short term goals Answering the student’s need to explore and understand the world around them. Equipping the student with a range of skills and concepts enabling him/her to explore and record natural and human features and interactions in local and wider contexts in a systematic way. Helping the students to develop a sense of their own place and thus contributes to the student self identity Fostering the student’s sense of local, regional, national and global citizenship Developing a sense of individual and community responsibility for environment

Instructional Strategies I will choose simple and easy words to explain Geography. I make sure to relate maximum topics with current advancement in the world, it will help students to be in touch with the World. I will guide students to understand maps and practice to locate geographical features and locations.

Why Study Geography? Geography is all about people and how they interact with each other and their world. Within, the Geography students gain,  Knowledge  Skills  Attitude

Knowledge KNOWLEDGE about humans and the social world. KNOWLEDGE is acquired most efficiently when taught through themes and when students are assisted in finding relationships between themselves and different aspects of their social world.

Skills Students learn SKILLS that helps them understand more about human and society. The SKILLS acquired include:  Development of skills in interpersonal relationships and social participation  Promotion of civic participation

Attitude Attitude is the most important personal growth of students and is utmost importance to Geography teachers. Among the attitudes of our students are:  Respect for and celebration of diverse people and culture  Empowerment, a belief that problems can be solved and wrongs, righted  Tolerance for different beliefs and values  Responsibility for the protection and conservation of humanity and its environment.
