Be Physically Active Every Day The person climbing the stairs represents physical activity that you are suppose to get every day or most days. Do things that you enjoy like running, swimming, biking, or playing basketball.
Eat More From Some Food Groups than Others Some of the colored stripes on the pyramid are wider than others. This is to remind you to choose more foods from the groups with the bigger stripes.
Choose Healthier Goods From Each Group The stripes are wider at the bottom of the pyramid than the top. Every food group has foods that you should eat more often than others, and they are represented by the wider base of the pyramid.
Every Color Every Day The colors orange, green, red, yellow, blue and purple represent the five different food groups plus oils. Remember to eat foods from all food groups every day.
Take One Step at a Time You don’t need to change what you eat and how you exercise overnight. Just start with one new, good thing, and add a new on every day
Make Choices That Are Right for You Every person is different so MyPyramid has a program that can customize to each individual. MyPyramid.gov is a web site that will give everyone in the family personal ideas on how to eat better and exercise more.
