Chain stories (2006 – 2009) Lingua 1 project financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Romania Objectives: Chainstories is meant to create an international framework within which children can discover what multilingualism is, what it means for their particular contexts and how they can model it to achieve their goals. Through observing the common issues and the differences within the same family language children better understand the connections between the diverse countries. This also includes a cultural component helping children acquire new information on their international partners. Target group : children between 8 and 12 years, from 500 to 2,000 schools in Europe. Results: Children write a part of the story in the native language, and then send it to other school from another country, they decrypt the content and write a next part of the story and then send it to another school.

Chain stories (2006 – 2009)

No Child Left Behind (2007 – 2009) Comenius project financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Spain and Bulgaria Objectives: No Child Left Behind investigates the provision of, and teaching approaches to study support and compares strengths and weaknesses to agree on a series of good practices which are internationally exchangeable. Target group: school children aged 5-18 Results: A training programme will be devised for teachers and trainers of study support, which offers a structure containing imaginative and flexible methodologies, including latest ICT technologies, and in-built quality assurance mechanisms aimed at motivating teachers and trainers into producing an enriched and more stimulating study support curriculum for their own school.

TOOL2 - Tool for Online and Offline Language Learning (2006– 2009) Lingua 2 project financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: Estonia, Slovenia, Greece, Belgium, Hungary, Malta, UK, Spain, Romania Objectives: The project undertakes to create a blended learning system, online and offline, with materials for learning and teaching in five languages: Dutch, Estonian, Hungarian, Maltese, and Slovene, based on a methodology which is readily transferable to the learning and teaching of other languages. Target group : learners of basic A2 level courses for work/ study/ leisure mobility purposes; learners in need of flexibility Results: five Blended Learning basic A2 level courses with a strong cultural component to be set up by teachers and language centres across Europe; highly demonstrative dissemination events;

ALL - Autonomous Language Learning (2006 – 2008) Lingua 2 Project financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: Spain, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey Objectives: to create materials at Level A2 for 4 LWULT languages: Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Romanian and Turkish to apply the Common European Framework to Level A2 where the descriptors do not already exist; to use online technologies in a blended learning course to transfer the methodology of blended learning to other providers in the four target language countries. to create courses which are flexible for online activities, so that the course can be updated and adapted to the needs of different users; to develop learner autonomy Results: 4 blended learning courses for: Romanian, Turkish, Lithuanian, Bulgarian

ELSTI - European Languages for Secretaries ( ) Leonardo da Vinci –Transfer of Innovation project financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: Italy, Lithuania, UK, Romania Objective: developing the communication skills ( linguistic + cultural) in four languages: English, Italian, French and Spanish Target group: office staff (A2/ B1) Results: (available on the online platform) 1. Business language courses (2 levels, 4 languages) 2. Training package aiming at facilitating personal development 3. Business culture modules (9 +1 European cultures) 4. Student motivation module

The Dinocrocs travel to the Balkans Leonardo da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation project financed by the EC under the LLP How children learn to communicate effectively in a foreign language? The foreign language is learned through the creation of a context in which we speak, live and act exclusively in the new language: it is the fantastic world of Hocus & Lotus. With Hocus & Lotus the children engage in a variety of activities characterized by love and emotional involvement and structured in such a way that they respect the rhythm, time and skills of each and every one of them, by going through the different stages of foreign language acquisition process.

Partner countries: Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Turkey Target group: Teacher-trainers (→ train other teachers) Primary school children Objectives: support improvement of the quality and attractiveness of the BG, RO and TK vocational systems of pre-school and primary school education integrating the Innovative model for training the pre-school and primary school trainers and teachers (‘The Adventures of Hocus and Lotus’) implemented in IT, UK, DE, FR, ES into the BG, RO and TK national and sectoral training systems Results: A new teaching and training method (paper-based, CD-ROM, website)

Office InterActors ( ) Leonardo da Vinci - Transfer of Innovation project Partners: Romania, Spain, Lithuania, France, Bulgaria, UK Objectives: communication in a foreign language (English + French, Spanish, Dutch, Lithuanian, Bulgarian and/or Romanian negotiation and team work (including for international cooperation) ICT skills knowledge and awareness of different office practices in other countries Target group: office managers, secretaries Focus on: develop skills auxiliary to the work domain of the beneficiaries encourage international awareness create a flexible structure Results: site and customized moodle platform analysis of needs methodological harmonization two rounds of courses conference and project kit that would support blended teaching/ learning

EAT - Eating Abroad Together ( ) KA2 project financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Netherlands,the UK Aims: to raise awareness on the importance of healthy eating to improve the quality, attractiveness and accessibility of language learning by developing and promoting methodologies that are innovative and fun to share traditions and customs Target group: children aged 7-12 (20 committed primary schools )

LIS - Language and Integration through Singing (2008 – 2010) Grundtvig Learning Partnership Producing, testing and evaluating teaching material for IT, RU and RO explicitly using music Objectives: to develop innovative ICT-based content, techniques and practice to transfer the methodological approach of the project to strengthen the capacity for teacher training and development; to improve quality and co-operation among organisations involved in adult education to raise cultural awareness to promote integration of migrants

VIVACE The Lingua 1 project was financed by the EC under the LLP Partner countries: UK, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary Objective: The VIVACE project promotes languages and language learning to disadvantaged, marginalised and reluctant groups, working in close collaboration with those agencies and organisations which support them. Target group: disadvantaged, marginalised and reluctant groups Results: foreign languages sessions with members of the targeted groups
