MEMBERSHIP DEADLINES There are specific deadlines for Membership Dues to be received in the NATIONAL office in order for students to be eligible to compete at competitive events. November 1 - RCE Deadline February 1 - SLC Deadline March 1 - NLC Deadline

REGIONAL COMPETITIVE EVENTS (RCE) Events at RCE are events which require eligibility in order to compete at States. Look these over so you know which events require eligibility. A quick list of those events follows.

EVENT PREPARATION CONT'D There are different types of activities required for events. They are: Objective Tests Home Site Tests Projects Case Studies Oral Presentations

OBJECTIVE TESTS - Multiple choice tests - Offered online PRIOR to SLC - Require Proctors - Deadlines are often WELL before SLC

HOME SITE TESTS - Performance Tests - Offered online PRIOR to SLC - Require Proctors - Deadlines are often WELL before SLC

PROJECTS - Usually require a lot of time! - Start EARLY!!!!! - May be part of a Chapter Project, Individual or Team (depending on the event)

CASE STUDIES - Part of an event that includes an Oral Presentation - Usually s pecific topic or a specific task - Spe cific amount of time in which to prepare. Use the event guidelines to help determine what the case study requires.

ORAL PRESENTATIONS - C onsist of pre-prepared speeches or part of a case study that is given on site. Use the event guidelines to determine what the oral presentation requirements are and how to prepare.

SLC REGISTRATION - Online registration - Registration open from January Once registration closes - no changes can be made!

SUMMARY My students don’t place every year and we don’t do a Chapter Project every year – it always depends on the students I have that particular year. However, we are always well prepared so that we will be ABLE to do those things if we work at it and choose to do so. It is really all about being organized ….
