Stevens Towing Marine Transportation Since 1913 By Robert W.G. Stevens

History Marine Transportation and Shipping is older than our nation. Hauling cargo on the water is the first form of long distance shipping. Stevens Towing has been inc. since 1913 but been doing business in the shipping industry since pre civil war.

What is Marine Transportation Cargo can transported by ship, small vessel, tug and barge.

Environmental In the past few years tugboats and other forms of shipping vessels have been overly criticized by the public on pollution issues. Older natural diesel engines such as Detroit Diesel due pollute, however, due they pollute more than a truck or train? Can Tugboats carry more or less cargo a mile on less amounts of fuel? There are newer cleaner burning engines on the market, but are they affordable?
