09/09/ Background Came about through Percy Hedley & Northern Counties merging First students – November 2005 Officially opened on 31 January 2006 Main campus at Northern Counties and able to access other Percy Hedley sites
09/09/ College year The college is open for 38 weeks of the year as a college Funding for this is usually provided through Young Persons Learning Agency (YPLA)
09/09/ Students Our areas of specialism are students with – significant and complex neurological impairment – motor or sensory impairment – hearing impairment – learning difficulties – speech, language or communication difficulties – autistic spectrum.

09/09/ Transition We believe that our students should leave the college better equipped for living independent lives. In order to support this aim we will undertake a number of activities with students such as – – suitable and safe work experience placements for each student each year – Transition planning with social workers, carers, Connexions advisors, local learning providers and transition coordinators – Individualised support and guidance
