Quarter 1 November 4 th, 2014

 Welcome!!  Discuss/review current data  Clarify/agree on next steps

 By June, 2015, all subgroups will increase growth by 5% in ELA/writing and math as measured by End-of-Grade tests, ABC subgroup growth data, and common formative assessments with a focus on SWD, Level I and Level II students and all sub- groups will meet their AMO targets.

 Teachers will continue to: ◦ Incorporate the use of open ended questions and written responses to allow students to explain their thinking. ◦ Provide differentiation strategies (CUBED, team time, strategy groups, etc. based on analyzed data), but will also plan rigorous whole group lessons in which all students will be given the opportunity to think critically. ◦ Utilize Math Talk and “I Can” statements to apply concepts and skills in rigorous problem solving. ◦ Continue to provide students with opportunities to do calculator activities.

 Goal managers and the data committee will….. ◦ Review progress that has been documented in PLT minutes and will discuss areas of strength and concern. ◦ Continue to brainstorm different ideas, strategies, and professional development that can be used to assist teachers with providing rigorous lessons to students.

 Teachers will continue to: ◦ Utilize Letterland to emphasize consistent phonics instruction in grades K-2. ◦ Collaborate with other certified staff to generate differentiation strategies. ◦ Strengthen mClass progress monitoring to help guide instruction and meet the needs of the students, but will also plan rigorous whole group lessons in which all students will be given the opportunity to think critically. ◦ Re-visit the strategic group structure based on reading behaviors and not just reading levels (additional professional development needed). ◦ Emphasize consistent grammar instruction.

 Goal managers and the data committee will….. ◦ Review progress that has been documented in PLT minutes and will discuss areas of strength and concern. ◦ Continue to brainstorm different ideas, strategies, and professional development that can be used to assist teachers with providing rigorous lessons to students as well as meet the different needs of the students.  Teachers have communicated that they realize they need to provide more rigor but they aren’t exactly sure what it should look like.

 Teachers will continue to: ◦ Utilize Empowering Writers and C-Mapp to provide consistency in grade level progression of writing skills (Now that teachers are more familiar with Empowering Writers they should be able to connect it to C-Mapp more consistently). ◦ Be consistent in using rubrics so that students are being held to the same standards with what is expected and writing is being scored consistently (Big discussions have been had about this and we realize it is something that we need to really focus on). ◦ Continue to scaffold instruction with sentence structure and spiraling of skills. ◦ Focus on the written component of the TRC. Continue to use question stems, whole group lessons, and guided practice on written responses. This was a big focus last year and we have already seen where it has helped.

 Goal managers and the data committee will….. ◦ Review progress that has been documented in PLT minutes and will discuss areas of strength and concern.

 By the End of , Sycamore Creek will promote effective communication and a positive school culture as measured by the teacher working conditions survey, student surveys and guidance surveys with a satisfaction rate of 90% as analyzed by the assistant principals and the guidance counselors.

 Continue to expand the Ambassador Program. The Ambassadors will assist with Club Croc and will continue to take new students on tours.  Continue to address bullying issues that arise within the school community (buses, Club Croc, school, etc.).  Provide small group instruction for test taking skills.  Utilize surveys to collect data about the school and the guidance program.

 Teachers will use instructional rounds to observe teaching practices.  IRT and teacher leader corp will provide information and training opportunities.  Teachers will participate in Committee Based PLT’s (Data, PBIS, Positive School Culture, AIG, Technology, and Grants) to assist with reaching our school’s goals in the School Improvement Plan.  Staff and students will continue to follow the guidelines and procedures in place as a PBIS School of Excellence.
