Writing Prompts Week 1

Write one at least one paragraph in your Composition Notebook. You must write the question.  Do our opinions of ourselves affect what others think of us?

Our opinions of ourselves definitely impact the way others view us. If I was not confident in myself I would probably carry my insecurities in full view of the world- timid voice, slumped posture, little eye contact- and the world would take in that information about me and respond accordingly. People would likely think that I wasn’t that important. After all, I didn’t even seem to think I was important! In life we communicate our opinions so people better understand us. It only makes sense that people would be affected by our opinions on the key topic of our identity.

Write one at least one paragraph in your Composition Notebook. You must write the question.  Describe Freak physically and socially.

The moment when Kevin calls Max ‘earthling,” you realize that Kevin is not from this world- he is special, different, to some a freak. Freak has a big imagination, a big brain of knowledge, and an inexhaustible love of learning. The only thing about Freak that is pint sized is his stature. Freak has a disability and something isn't quite right with his legs. However, you get the sense that something as insignificant as legs isn't going to hold someone like him back.

 Write one at least one paragraph in your Composition Notebook. You must write the question.  Consider the character of Tony D. in Chapter 6- “Close Encounter of the Turd Kind.” Write a description of Tony, including how he might think and act in other situations we have not seen.

 Topic- Arrogant  Support- 1.He thinks he deserves someone else’s fireworks 2. He insults Freak and Max but thinks he is above being insulted when Freak calls him a “cretin” 3. He walks with a “hippity hop” strut to get attention.  Concluding- Above the rules/ feels better than Max and Freak

 Write one at least one paragraph in your Composition Notebook. You must write the question.  Write about a time when you felt as though you were being picked on for something over which you had little or no control. How were you treated? Explain
