Sprint Corporation - Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) 1 Sprint Corporation provides wholesales capacity on its PCS, CDMA, EVDO, WiMAX, and LTE wireless networks to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), which allows other wireless providers to utilize Sprint's networks to offer its services. Sprint's prepaid brands also operate using Sprint's networks, however they are not an MVNOs, but rather wholly owned prepaid subsidiaries of Sprint Corporation.

Eircom - eMobile (MVNO) 1 eMobile is a pseudo mobile virtual network operator MVNO which uses the Meteor Network for its services to residential business customers, to compliment the residential and business mobile services offered by Meteor.[ article.php?article_id=17730 eircom announces launch of own-brand mobile service]

Mobile virtual network operator - MVNOs worldwide 1 As of October 2012 there were 634 active MVNO operations worldwide, which in turn are operated by 503 companies (some companies operate multiple MVNOs in the same country). The largest multi-country MVNO is Lycamobile, which operates in 17 countries. PLINTRON world's largest multi-country MVNE have enabled Lycamobile and by 2016 will be offering its MVNE services in 31 countries.

Mobile virtual network operator - MVNOs worldwide 1 MVNOs target both the consumer and enterprise markets. The majority of MVNOs are consumer-focused and most have a focus on price as their unique selling point; customers of major carriers spend about 3.4 times as much money on their service as MVNO customers.

Mobile virtual network operator - MVNOs worldwide 1 In addition to traditional cellular voice and messaging services, 120 MVNOs now also offer mobile broadband services.

MVNO 1 An MVNO may use its own customer service, billing support systems, marketing and sales personnel or it may employ the services of a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE).[ condocs/mobile_call_termination/wmvct/a nnexf/ OFCOM report]

MVNO - Background and history 1 In some markets, the MVNO concept came about as the result of regulatory intervention

MVNO - Background and history 1 The MVNOs in Scandinavia ended up having a market share above 10%.

MVNO - Background and history 1 The efficiency is obtained by the nature of the MVNO business model. An MVNO incurs no significant capital expenditure on spectrum and infrastructure and does not have the time-consuming task of building out extensive radio infrastructure.

MVNO - Background and history 1 Certain mobile network operators believe that there is merit in operating a wholesale MVNO business unit to complement their retail model and have therefore either openly embraced potential MVNO partner or endeavored to launch their own branded MVNO.

MVNO - Background and history 1 The first commercially successful MVNO in the United Kingdom was Virgin Mobile UK, which was launched in 1999.[ s/media/news/2001/ / About Virgin Mobile] The success of Virgin Mobile UK was replicated by the United States License#Trademark and brand licensing|licensee of the Virgin Mobile brand

MVNO - Background and history 1 The first MVNO was created by Tele2 in Denmark, and subsequently rolled out in several European markets. This model formed the basis for the cooperation between Tele2 in Sweden and TeliaSonera|Telia, created when Telia failed to obtain a 3G license in their home market.

MVNO - Legislation 1 Presently many companies and regulatory bodies are strongly in favour of MVNOs. For example, in 2003, the European Commission issued a recommendation to national telecom regulators (NRAs) to examine the competitiveness of the market for wholesale access and call origination on public mobile telephone networks. The study resulted in new legislation from NRAs in countries like Republic of Ireland|Ireland and France forcing operators to open up their network to MVNOs.

MVNO - Legislation 1 In the Middle East, Jordan's TRC (Jordan)|TRC has issued its first MVNO regulations in 2008 facilitating the entrance of the first MVNO in the region.

MVNO - Legislation 1 In Brazil, the MVNO was regulated by Anatel, the Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications, in November As of September 2014 the combined market share of all Brazilian MVNOs was just 0.04%. market-in-brazil

Truphone - Partnerships and MVNO agreements 1 Truphone has MVNO agreements with operators in Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States. It has additional bi-lateral roaming agreements in place with a wide range of operators around the world.
