October 2005 in IGUALADA : the rules nobody wins if one competitor loses!

January: Time to study! We went to Strasbourg Visited the city and the Museum of Modern Art Had fun together Improved our English Got in touch with a different culture, though very similar to ours

We studied the European Institutions and visited the Council of Europe

ME!! ACCORDING TO AN ITALIAN PROVERB, TOO CLEVER IS.. Back home… …we made the questions..

WHO IS THE MOST FAMOUS POLISH MUSICIAN? GIVE ME A MINUTE.. …and the bonus and penality cards...

February in PARMA! Discussing rules, questions, bonuses, penalties…

THE BOARD TAKES SHAPE We wanted the board to reflect and communicate European values We designed four boards

“..only if we play together we will win, and winning means finding answers to questions with the help of everyone..” Maria Elisa & Michela

“...I thought “The dance” by Henry Matisse could represent the union of people from different countries...” Maria Lucia

“...In fact the European Union is like a mosaic of cultures and languages, but it’s also an example of unity...” Elena & Gabriele

“…Only a real collaboration among all countries will make the European Union proceed…” Giovanni

...and the winner is… GIOVANNI!!! At the Parma meeting we made our choice

Then we reflected on the holocaust We read about the Lodz children in the ghetto We met Mrs Tedeschi We saw a documentary film with witnesses of the concentration camps

Mrs Tedeschi is a Jewish lady whose family went through the horrors of the holocaust She told us about her life as a girl in Milan and as a refugee in Switzerland, and about her husband’s experience in the Auschwitz concentration camp She has donated all her documents to the Museum of Modern History of Jerusalem and to the Jewish community of Parma. She has also published a biography.

We also updated our records on immigration in Parma This is what we found…

It’s been all this…and much more: different places… new friends… and a lot of fun together!
