4 Important itemsRelated rules and explanations Obtain “coordinator” Agreement (LInk) Before the first semester of the 2nd year 1. Students must first find a full-time faculty member from the Program who agrees to be their “teacher coordinator”. 2. Students must turn in the “Teacher Coordinator Agreement Form” to the Program office before the deadline for the first phase of course selection in the semester in which the course is held. Field study hours requirement Field study should last for four weeks (20 days, 160 hours) and can be separated between different organizations locally and abroad Field study schedule requirement Course semester: The first semester of the 2nd year Students can undergo their field study during the winter or summer breaks prior to the course or during the semester when course is ongoing, but all internships must be completed within 16 weeks of school starting. “Field Study in Global Health” Course (Elective/ 2 credits)

5 Important itemsRelated rules and explanations Field study report1. The hardcopy of the field study report must be turned in within two weeks after completion of internship. 2. The Program will hold a small conference at the end of the semester where students can share their experiences during the internship with others. Grading Standard1. Coordinator’s evaluation: 25% 2. Organization’s evaluation: 50% 3. Course instructor’s evaluation on written and oral reports: 25% (If the organization refuse to evaluate, the coordinator and the course professor’s evaluation will be 50% each.) “Field Study in Global Health” Course

6 Course Taking at Tulane University TMU students take one course at Tulane University and can transfer credits when they return to TMU Approximately 1 to 2 students per year Field Study in Global Health At Tulane University where students follow a supervisor Outside of Tulane University, but following one of Tulane’s projects (e.g., in Africa) Invitation to professors of Tulane to give seminars or workshops at TMU Short-Term Site Visit Exchange Program Professors and students of TMU visit Tulane for approx. 1 to 2 weeks (around 10 students) Professors and students of Tulane visit TMU Research Cooperation between TMU and Tulane Professors Prospective Collaboration
