Introduction CLS 332 :Demonstrated by Daheeya Office no#110,3 rd floor

CLS 332 Clinical Instrumental Analysis: The knowledge of the principles of instrumentation is essential for a clinical laboratory technologist which can be utilized in a modern laboratory set up for the collection of clinical data. This will prepare the laboratory technologist to adapt analytical procedures to the instruments of the future.

Marks 6(3+3)Quizzes 2Attend & behavior 12Final practical lab 20Total

Warnings: Wear your lab coat in the lab. Repetition of any exam (final or Quiz) should be go through the departmental meeting for approval. Come to the lab at exact time Clean the lab before you go

Definition: Distell water(D.W): Is water that has many of its impurities removed through distillation. Distillation involves boiling the water and then condensing the steam into a clean container. *Application: -Use as drinking water -In chemical and biological laboratories, and industry, cheaper alternatives such as deionized water are preferred over distilled water.

Deionized water: Is water that has had almost all of its mineral ions removed, such as cations like sodium, calcium, and anions such as chloride and sulfate. Deionization is a chemical process that uses specially manufactured ion-exchange resins which exchange hydrogen ion and hydroxide ion for dissolved minerals, which then recombine to form water.

Tap water (running water): is water supplied to a tap (valve). Its uses include drinking, washing & cooking. Standard: standard solution is a solution containing a precisely known concentration of an element or a substance., a known weight of solute is dissolved to make a specific volume. Blank: It is containing every thing except the compound of interest which absorbs light We using it to zeroing the machine

Calibration Is a comparison between measurements – one of known magnitude or correctness set with one device and another measurement made in as similar a way as possible with a second device. Normal Saline: sterile solution of sodium chloride (NaCl) in water. It used for intravenous infusion, rinsing contact lenses, nasal irrigation and for dilution of some substance. Maintenance: Daily-weekly- annually.
