Lesson 6 (Part 2) 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Convert The Jews. “Behold, now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6:2.  There is no second chance to be saved after this life. cf. Mt. 25:1-13  The gospel is the power of God to save Jews and Gentiles. Rom. 1:16  God’s Jew today is the one who has the same kind of faith that Abraham had. Rom. 4:16; cf. Rom. 2:28; Gal. 3:26-29

Reign For 1000 Years. Christ is NOW reigning as King: “ For he must reign until he hath put all enemies under his feet, the last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:25-26

What about Revelation 20:1-6? a. Rev. 1: John is discussing things which must “ shortly come to pass,” things that were “signified by his angel”. cf. Rev. 22:6 b.Jesus said concerning his kingdom, “My kingdom is not of this world” and refused to be crowned as an earthly king. John 18:36; 6:15. c.Therefore, if this symbolic chapter is to conform to the rest of the Bible, we must not attach any meaning to it that is not otherwise taught in the Bible.

 The Second Coming of Christ.  Reign of Christ on Earth.  Jerusalem of Palestine.  Thousand years reign of Christ on earth.  A Bodily Resurrection.  Revelation 20:1-6 does not mention us.

To provide an end of the preparation time. Mt. 25:1-13

To Raise The Dead, BOTH GOOD AND BAD. 1. John 5:28-29 “ ALL that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth…” 2. Acts 24:15 “that there shall be a resurrection both of the just and the unjust.”

The Resurrection Of The Righteous Will Be At THE LAST DAY. John 6:40, “ And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the LAST DAY.” John 6:44 “ No man can come to me except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the LAST DAY.” John 6:54 “ Whoso eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the LAST DAY.”

Judgment Of The Wicked Shall Be At THE LAST DAY. John 12:48 “ He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in THE LAST DAY.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 … No Second Resurrection In This Passage.

He Is Coming For The Judgment Of ALL... Rev. 22:12 “ And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” cf. Jude 14-15; Mt. 16:27. Acts 17:30-31 It is an appointed day and Christ will be the judge. Romans 14:10-12 We must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

The living will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:  The living will have their physical body changed into a spiritual body. Philippians 3:  We will have a glorious body like Christ. 1 John 3:2.

 Christ will deliver up the kingdom to the Father. 1 Cor. 15:  The Earth will be destroyed. 2 Pet. 3:10-11.

 Jesus said “.. be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the son of man cometh.” Mt. 24:44  Also, “ Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.” Mt. 25:13

Hear the gospel, Romans 10:17. Believe the Gospel, Mark 16:15,16. Repent of sins, Acts 2:38. Confess faith in Jesus, Acts 8:37. Be Baptized, Acts 22:16; Gal. 3:27. Always abound in the work of the Lord, 1 Corinthians 15:58.
