: “a prosperous Mozambique, free from malaria forever” PIRCOM: “a prosperous Mozambique, free from malaria forever”  PIRCOM – “Inter-Religious Program Against Malaria”, is a faith- based initiative created in 2006 and committed to improving the life of Mozambican population by mobilizing communities to strive for the elimination of malaria.  It was founded as the first multi-faith-based alliance dedicated to using social networks to mobilize and create a positive impact on communities in the fight against malaria through prevention and by disseminating and point out to treatment opportunities.  Partnership with MOH, and funded by USAID and local organizations, with tech support from ADRA, PSI and FHI.

PIRCOM Intervention Strategy: Based on Social Communication Change (SBCC), at two key pillars 1.Interpersonal Communication – Home visits for messages-actions delivery about prevention and malaria treatment opportunities by trained volunteers 2.Mass Communication - Sermons diffusion in places of worship about malaria prevention and opportunities for treatment by Religious Leaders (Muslim and Christian Sermon Guides)

Our Services/Our Capabilities: PIRCOM Services and Capabilities fall into the following categories:  Advocacy  Building Faith Leaders Capacity  Building PIRCOM Volunteers Capacity  Mobilizing Communities Transfer Model PIRCOM is open to transfer the model used in the issues of malaria to other challenges in the area of public health and embracing other causes in collaboration with MoH.
