The Coastal Plains are low lying areas located along the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

The Appalachian Mountains is a mountain range located in the Eastern part of the U.S.                                                                                                 

                                                                            The Mississippi River is a river that flows from Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. It is the longest river in the U.S.                                                                                                        

Hurricanes are a natural disaster that threaten some of the SE region Hurricanes are a natural disaster that threaten some of the SE region. Day 3 History Ist people in the SE region—Native Americans They settled here because of the forest which were good hunting areas and good for lumber. Also because of the Mississippi River which was good for fishing. Early 1500—Spanish and French Explorers arrived They were looking for gold. The first settlement was built by the Spanish in 1565.
