Dermatology changes  Delivers to primary care teams access to a system which improves care, and patient care  Gives primary care teams greater access to systems outside surgery  Improving Outcomes for People with Skin Complaints  Quicker referrals to outpatient, and treatment.  Development and accreditation of GPwSIs in dermatology  Most patients will have their skin disorder diagnosed and treated by their GPs  Specialist triage Referral management in Cancer networks

National dermatology figures  First appointments - 881,607 (4.2 % of all)  All outpatients attendances - 2,738,796 (4.0% of all)  7 th largest O/P referral speciality after General Surgery, T&O, Opht, Gen Med and Gynae.  Average cost of referral is £120  15% of all the patients who see a GP, will be seeking help for a skin condition  Outpatient referral rate 14.3 per 1,000 patients  Nationally 29.2% of OP 1st GP Referrals that do not have an O/P follow-up 3
