Beginning of Class Expectations - Always enter quietly - Read the “Do Now” posted on the board -Prepare for class (clear your desk of binders, have your writing instrument, SSR book and your class notebook on your desk top)

Grading Protocal 60% classwork 30% assessments (quiz, tests) 5% homework 5% prepared for class Work received with no name on it earns no credit.

The 8th grade Responding to Reading curriculum herein is the product of work completed by nearly a dozen teachers of Responding to Reading and Academic Literacy, in conjunction with teachers of 8th grade English. This curriculum reflect a collaborative understanding of the needs of learners in light of the Common Core Standards, while honoring the integrity and intentions of the course itself.
