Each day students are expected to come to class prepared and follow these procedures:

3. HOMEWORK Recorded in Agenda Planner daily
Note: Homework assignments are mainly based on what is completed in class. HW should be completed for the following day or noted date- points will be deducted for late assignments.
HW Buddies – names & numbers will be recorded in agendas.
** Core subject tests, quizzes, LTAs, and special assignments will be posted on “Teacher Webpage”

Grades for all English classes Marking periods 1-4
40% = Tests and Quizzes (literature, vocab, grammar, usage, etc.)
40%= Written and Oral Expression (essays, research, projects, presentations)
20%= Preparedness and Classwork (homework, notebooks, etc)

8. Independent Reading Books – Daily Requirement

9. Tests and Quizzes
Students will be given advanced notice to prepare for tests/quizzes on grammar, and class novels.
Material will be reviewed in class before exams.
Reading Assessments do not require advanced notice or preparation.
All graded papers MUST be signed and returned to class within two school days. This will be recorded as a HW grade.

10. Extra Help sessions are offered on Tuesdays from 7:10 -7:45in E2-3.
Students attending must come with specific needs – concepts, or assignments that require additional reinforcement, or re-teaching.
General reviews of concepts, and test preps are done in class, so ALL students benefit.

IB Learner Profile - The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing our common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
Inquirers - They ask a lot of questions and want to know the answers to things they do not understand. They love learning about new ideas and concepts.
