Bell Ringer Identify the purpose in the following writing prompt: Situation-In March 2011, a tragic event occurred in Japan. Japan was hit with a massive earthquake that was followed by an immense tsunami. Task-Write a letter to the school newspaper explaining what happens in an earthquake and a tsunami. Explain ways our school can help.
