The Royal Flying Corps Canada was established by the Royal Flying Corps in 1917 to train aircrew in Canada. As the war progressed, Great Britain found it that it needed more aircrew and more training facilities. During the last two years of the war 3135 pilots and 137 observers trained in Canada and Texas for both the RFC and the new Royal Air Force.

Aircraft used during the war by the RFC included: Airco DH 2, DH 4, DH 5, and DH9 Armstrong-Whitworth F.K.8 Avro 504 Bristol’s, F2A and F2B Handley Page O/400 Martinsvde G.100 Morange-Saulnier Bullet Nieuport Scout 17, 24, 27 Strutter, Pup, Triplane, Camel & Dolphin SPAD S. VII Vicers FB5
