High School Credit  This is a high school course. If your child stays in Algebra through the full year, they will receive one high school math credit. However, if they only stay in for one semester, they will not receive any credit. Must have four math credits to graduate  Also, their grade will not go towards their high school GPA.  This is a rigorous course, and is taught like a high school class. There will be new lessons taught daily, and homework nightly (even on the weekends).

Humble ISD Grading Scale A B C D F 69 Grading Breakdown: Formative 30% Summative 70%

Grading Policy  I don’t give grades…your child earns them!  All work turned in on-time receives full credit  Work turned in one day late receives 25 points off  Work after two day is 40 points off  Work after three days is 50 points off  Students with missing work will be assigned mandatory tutoring. This can result in a d- hall or Thursday class if this is a problem.

Reporting Grades  Progress reports every 3 weeks Any average below an 80 requires a signature  Report cards every 9 weeks  Grades are available on-line at the KMS website - see accomplishments prior to report cards!  Send your child to tutoring for test corrections on any failing test grade or missing grade

Absences  All work given to the student prior to his or her absence is due the first day back at school  Your child will have a folder with all work missed. It is his or her responsibility to check this folder upon return to school  Check the website for missing assignments so that you do not fall behind  Notes and assignments uploaded to website  Watch the tutorial videos on the online textbook  Tutoring help is available to catch up with work  Encourage the Buddy System!
