MOBIUS UPDATE What is happening at UCA?

So what has happened since our Renewal Celebration?

In viewing this presentation, it is our hope that you will have a glimpse of some of the many activities the Board and Leadership Team of UCA have addressed since our Celebration of Renewal Meeting on November 29, The results handout given to each of you at that meeting is duplicated for you on the slides. The colored circles indicate which of the 5 Disciplines is being addressed as was indicated in the Organizational Assessment completed from the Focus Groups meetings.

A large values banner painted by Mrs. DeLaBruere is hanging in the cafeteria Posters which are duplicates of the banner are hanging in each classroom and throughout the school

The Leadership team has helped to bridge the gaps between the Board, the faculty and the parents. Defining roles and authority has been part of the process.

Each member has embraced the MOBIUS process – but we are all still learning – and there is much left to do ! Each of these responsibilities takes considerable attention and time – and all the meetings are in addition to everyone’s full time jobs….

Mission Statement The mission of United Christian Academy is to provide a Christ centered education to students K-12 from the Northeast Kingdom as well as internationally. We are a unique multi-denominational school with Catholic and Protestant students, faculty and staff. Our unity lies in requiring all families to be open to the Christian faith and desiring all students to come to a personal faith in Jesus Christ

MISSION STATEMENT (con’t) UCA is seeking students who want to be challenged by high academic and moral standards, which include a commitment to community service. We strive to partner with families and to have them be active participants in all aspects of our school in order to bring about a sense of belonging in the educational process.

Using the Four Fold way, Julie has been encouraging teachers to look at conflicts from another perspective and has mediated several conflict situations

Meetings….. >Pre-set agendas >Action plans define champions and time accountability >Time is respected >Ground rules encourage productivity and respect for each other

SCHOOL JOY Parents, students and teachers have adopted the approach “What can we do to address what is missing?” Student dress down days Ski program Our specials – art, music, bells sports Events - Red/ green day Pizza parties, ice cream sundaes
