CHIUNE SUGIHARA Chiune Sugihara was born January 1, 1900 in Japan and later died July 31, 1986 in Japan. He had four children and they were all boys.He also went to a Japanese college named Waseda(Wa-si-da) University.

Chiune Sugihara cont... He was a top honor student in elementary school and majored in English language. Others also called him by the name of “Sempo”.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION It all begins in September 1939 when Britain and France declared war on Germany.It started in Europe,but spreaded thoughout the whole world.It was a fight between the Axis Powers and the Allied Powers.It finally ended May 7, 1945 with Germany surrendering. Germany had been expecting a treaty based on Wilson’s 14 points,but wasn’t happy with it.People weren’t pleased with the government not letting them vote on May 12, 1945.

Events During WWII Chiune Sugihara was known for rescuing ten thousand Jews in the Holocaust

Conclusions of WWII It created new opportunities for women, African Americans and other minor groups. And it provided jobs and service for women.
