Introduction  John 8:11-12 –  (11) “And Jesus said to her, ‘Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”  (12) “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Sin No More… Looking to Jesus  Christ as Our Example

Christ as Our Example  I Peter 2:21 –  “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps”  I Peter 4:1 –  “Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same mind”

Christ as Our Example  Philippians 2:5 –  “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”  I Corinthians 11:1 –  “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”

Sin No More… Looking to Jesus  Christ as Our Example  Pleasing the Father

Pleasing the Father  John 8:28-29 –  “for I always do those things that please Him.”

Pleasing the Father  I Peter 4:1-2 –  “arm yourselves also with the same mind… no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”

Pleasing the Father  Philippians 2:5-8 –  “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus… He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

Went about Doing Good  Acts 10:36-38 –  “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good”

Went about Doing Good  Ephesians 2:10 –  “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Went about Doing Good  II Timothy 3:16-17 –  “All Scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Jesus Facing Temptations  Matthew 4:1-11 –  “It is written, It is written, It is written”  Ephesians 6:17 –  “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Jesus Facing Death  Matthew 26:36-46 –  Importance of Prayer  “not as I will, but as You will”  ”Your will be done.”

Conclusion  Philippians 2:5-11 –  “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name”  Christ has been highly exalted by God.  Christ is our example and we are to follow His steps. We can be exalted as well.

God’s Plan of Salvation  Hear the Word of God (Mark 16:15)  Believe in Jesus (Mark 16:16)  Repent of Sins (Acts 17:30)  Confess Faith in Christ (Romans 10:10)  Be Baptized in Water (I Peter 3:21)  Remain Faithful & Grow(Revelations 2:10)  If err, repent and pray to God (I John 1:9)

Lord’s Supper  Partaking of the Bread:  I Corinthians 11:24 –  “and when He has given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Lord’s Supper  Partaking of the Fruit of the Vine:  I Corinthians 11:26 –  “In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
