Presentation transcript:

The students from the American College Arcus participated in the European Science Week with the project Ecology-Science of the Future. The team from 8th A grade took 1st prize for their project of a waste bin made of used bottles. The students from American College Arcus® made scarecrows from recyclable materials and showed them to their classmates under the initiative Ecology – A science of the Future. The best scarecrows received prizes form the panel. To celebrate Earth Day the students exhibited original scarecrows in the centre of Veliko Tarnovo. On the eve of Enyovden the students visited the pine wood near the village of Arbanassi, which they are going to maintain. Afterwards there was a folk dances performance and picking of herbs.

The combined effect of everyone doing their bit will reduce our waste and make a difference to the future! As a modern consumer society we are becoming a throwaway society, which is causing the amount of rubbish we produce to increase alarmingly. Everyone has an important contribution to make!  Reduce your waste  Reuse & Recycle your waste  Compost  Buy recycled & refillable products as well as things with less packaging
