DATA CONVERSION Transfer from old media to new

What is data? Distinct pieces of information stored on a medium. Can be either analog or digital. Requires an interface device to read and/or write to the medium.

What is wrong with old? Older media can not be accessed easily and readily by today’s technology. Some older data mediums can deteriorate over time. Devices designed to read from older mediums break down over time and become difficult to repair as replacement parts become scarce. Support for old devices and media is not given or available from the manufacturer.
