What effect does the 2000 Life Safety Code have? Many requirements of the 2000 LSC are also requirements in the 1997 LSC. In many instances, facilities should already be in compliance with certain requirements. In some areas the 2001 Health Care Facilities Fire Safety Rules (that adopts the 1997 LSC) may be more restrictive than the 2000 LSC. To maintain their state license facilities will be required to meet the 2001 Health Care Facilities Fire Safety Rules.
