PDAC’s Strategic Plan and Aboriginal Affairs September 2012: PDAC Board of Directors approved a new strategic plan Aboriginal Affairs a priority for PDAC Creation of a Roadmap for the Aboriginal Affairs and Resource Development program based on strategic outcomes 9

Aboriginal Affairs Strategic Outcomes 10 Increase participation by Aboriginal people in the mineral industry Improve relationships between the mineral industry and Aboriginal people

PDAC’s Aboriginal Affairs Roadmap and Stakeholder Engagement Engaging stakeholders and Aboriginal communities across Canada to identify and discuss: existing issues / challenges / successes possible initiatives / activities for the PDAC This will assist PDAC Aboriginal Affairs: map the existing landscape identify priorities develop a long term operational plan 11

Preliminary Priorities: Feedback received has identified the following as some key issues for consideration for the PDAC Aboriginal Affairs Roadmap: Company – Community Agreements (negotiation, implementation, monitoring) Engagement and the Duty to Consult – law vs. practice Capacity Development (awareness, skills, training) Business Development / Joint Ventures Economic Benefits Government Resource Revenue Sharing Land Claims / Land Use Planning 12
