Contribute to improving the living conditions of Salvadoran and Honduran men and women that want to improve themselves and pull their family through migrating with this program to countries where companies offer opportunities, influencing integrally their countries of origin and destination, guaranteeing respect, human dignity, and the wellbeing of the Workers.

 The project was initialized through negotiations by the Salvadoran Government and its Embassy in Canada in the year 2002, and since then more than 800 Salvadoran men and women have benefited from working at different companies in Canada.  In Honduras it began with the Technical Cooperation and Operational Agreement between the Honduran Government and IOM in the year 2007.

EL SALVADOR: On April 6th, 2006, a Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labor and IOM in El Salvador was signed with the purpose of unifying efforts to promote and negotiate the insertion of temporary labour programs of Salvadorans overseas, strictly sticking to the fundamental rights of workers.

25 Hondurans working at Fruits Queralt located in Cataluña, España. 20 men and 5 women with a 6 month contract. 9 of them were re-hired for this year. Bilateral agreement between Honduras and Spain for the hiring of Hondurans in Spain. 14 Salvadorians auxiliary nurses working in the geriatric hospitals “Edad Dorada”. 5 men and 9 women currently working and training in Madrid to get a Nursing title. This opportunity is very important for the temporary workers in Canada to change their quality of life and that of their families; and depending on their type of contract it could be an opportunity to establish themselves in a more permanent manner and with a regular migratory status in the country of destination
