6:40 to 7:10

The Beginnings of Portfolio Development

 This action team arose out of a need to understand employment options for LOV families  Micro enterprises and Co-ops  Supported employment  Other opportunities that may be available.  Portfolio Development viewed as useful for all options.  Understanding the assets of LOV Families  Providing a tangible tool for job seekers and brokers

 Most of what we are presenting is from the IRIS Employment Toolkit, 2011, Working Draft.  IRIS = Include, Respect, I Self-Direct  Funded by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services / Pathways to Independence.  Authored by Shannon Munn, with contributions from Nancy Molfenter and Angela Klemm

 It is not necessary to follow this linear flow.  We feel it is important to create tangible outcomes from these meetings.

 Informed Choice  Individual Ownership  Stefanie would like to work with a small group of young adults on employment issues.

 We will address Planning Teams in a future meeting  Tonight we want to work on tools that can help with:  Determining what is Important to you.  Porfolio Development

 Will we have someone to present this?  Presenter TBD

 Copy in your handout.  Start thinking about other people who can help you identify skills.  Amanda Bell will present a simple example of this worksheet.

 Also in your handouts.  Start the conversation with your young adult.

 Date TBD  Early review for those who missed the 4/25 meeting  Share Transferrable Skills Worksheet Examples  Creating a Planning Team  Identifying contacts outside of traditional service providers  Worksheet provided  Examples  Possible presentation: Young adults (and parents/care providers) sharing stories about life after school  What transition was like for them  What is life like now
