How long did it take to build a pyramid? It took about twenty years minimum for each of the Egyptian pyramids to be built. The great pyramid in Giza for instance which is the oldest and largest of the three took exactly 20 years. Its construction ended in 2,560 BC and it involved 100,000 men. How big were the pyramids? The tallest of a cluster of three pyramids at Giza, the Great Pyramid was originally about 146 meters tall, but it has lost about 10 meters in height over the millennia. Erosion and burial in sand contribute to the shrinkage. The base of the Great Pyramid is about 55,000 meters. How many pyramids are there in Egypt? There are about 138 Egyptian pyramids wow!

 How long is the River Nile? The River Nile is about 6,670 km (4,160 miles) in length and is the longest river in Africa and in the world. Although it is generally associated with Egypt, only 22% of the Nile’s course runs through Egypt.  How long did it take to sail across the River Nile? HHow long did it take to mummify someone? It depends on the kind of mummification that you do as to how long it takes to mummify a body. Usually, the ancient Egyptian technique of mummification took around 70 days. During the time, the family of the deceased person ate very little and wore black.

o Did the Pharaohs have horses? The pharaohs’ horses wore blinkers made of gold! They had patterns on called ‘ The Eye Of Horus.’ o What did the pharaohs look like? A pharaoh never let his hair be seen. He would always wear a crown or a headdress called a ‘Nemes.’

 Did the sphinx have any important jobs? The sphinx was the guard of the tombs or the pyramids.  What is the sphinx? The sphinx is a mythological creature with the body of a lion and the head of a person.
