 Matter is anything that has mass & takes up space. It exist as a solid, liquid, or gas. It is made up of [elements-atoms & particles.]

Atoms Atoms consist of protons and neutrons in an intense central nucleus orbited by a number of electrons. A molecule is two or more atoms linked together sharing electrons in a chemical bond.

Living Matter Cells are the basic part of living matter. The comparison to living matter is that you, me, and anybody are “living matter” because he are made up of skin cells. A plastic bottle is not living matter Because it has no cells.

Except for bacteria all cells have a nucleus that holds the cells DNA and other structures. ATP is a process that take place within a cell and is it’s main energy source. The whole process is called cellular respiration. Cells also relate to devices and/or units in a device that are able to change some form of energy into a electricity.

There are several form of energy such as: Nuclear Energy, Radiant Energy and Chemical Energy just to name a few. Nuclear Energy is the process of matter being change into energy and results in nuclear reactions. The energy created in this process is nuclear/atomic energy. For example Mitosis is a process of a dividing cell which produces two new nuclei, and each having the same number and type of chromosomes as the first one. Radiant Energy is Energy in the form of waves more so electromagnetic waves. Radio waves, x-rays, and visible light are all forms of radiant energy. The energy held in the covalent bond between atoms in a molecule is called chemical energy. Electrons are shared between atoms in a covalent bond. A weaker type of bond is a ionic bond where electrons are lost or gained. More energy is needed to break stronger bonds.

The two Main forms of energy are Potential and Kinetic energy. The result of Potential Energy is it’s position or location. For example, if you have two rocks that have the same mass on two different mountains with different heights, the rock on the tallest mountain has the most potential energy. Kinetic Energy is a result of the mass and the speed of an object/matter in motion. For example, if you take a track runner vs. pollen blowing in the air the track runner has more kinetic energy because the have more mass and they are going faster. Energy is stored in all matter and life is impossible without it.

Hope You Took Notes!!!!
