What is a printer? A printer is a device which produces a text and/or graphics of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print media such as paper or transparencies.

Parts of a printer

Types of printers INK-JET PRINTERS LASER PRINTERS LCD/LED PRINTERS DYE SUBLIMATION PRINTERS

Ink-jet printer It use tiny ink drops to create an image. This is achieved by using magnetized plates which direct the ink's path onto the paper in the desired pattern.

Laser printer A computer printer in which a laser is used to form a pattern of electrostatically charged dots on a light- sensitive drum, which attracts toner.

The laser uses a single light source that is directed by moving mirrors. After this, the lens “paint” that light onto the drum.

LED printers A LED printer is a type of computer printer. LED technology uses a light-emitted diode array as a light source in the printhead.

The LED printer uses an array of hundreds of LEDs that are selectively “painted” onto the drum.

Dye sublimation printer It employs a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials.

A three-pass system, featuring solid dyes (a ribbon or roller) dyes on top of one another. The print head on a dye-sub printer uses tiny heaters to vaporize the dye, which impregnates the surface of the paper.

In sales… Since 2005, the world's top selling brand of inkjet and laser printers has been HP which now has 46% of sales in inkjet and 50.5% in laser printers.

Materials we can print with : Aluminum Calendered Rigid Vinyl Best suited for outdoor signs because of the their long term durability. A semi-rigid film product with a uniform surface texture that provides an excellent finish for printing Corex Sintra ideal for indoor and outdoor applications. A lightweight corrugated plastic, very economical, and appropriate for short term applications. extremely durable indoor/outdoor plastic. Available in various thicknesses and colors. Can be die cut. Fire resistant. Good outdoor weatherability.
