EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL PROGRAMME “VENUS TRANSIT 2004, Veselka Radeva Astronomical Observatory, Varna BULGARIA GREAT EMOTION AND ATTRACTIVE EDUCATION”

The day of the transit – a national festival of astronomy

In Bulgaria the program was very successful in several directions: it organized large number of educational institutes to prepare and conduct the program; it caused great educational and public interest in astronomy; it organized the astronomical clubs and the individual amateur-astronomers to make the observations and thus the program created a national astronomical net; it provoked and kept the interest of the media in the astronomical observations and institutes; it caused great interest among the citizens from all over the country.

The involved institutes and people For Bulgaria the program was prepared by a very active and excellently working organizational committee, in which there were representatives from various state and media organizations and amateur astronomers.

The National committee prepared the following materials: 1. Educational packet for teachers and students. The educational packet includes educational and scientific information from the European web-page of the program, the lessons of EAAE and the methods for observation of the transit. The packet is on paper as well as on a CD-ROM (in the CD-ROM are included translated into Bulgarian PPTs from the European web-page of the program, as well).
