What is supported living?  Supported Living is simply supporting people to live in their own homes in the way they choose to live  The aim of supported living is to give people independence, choice and control  It is not any one service model

Supported living- only for the select few?  Anyone, regardless of the extent of their disability, can live in their own home with the right support  Independence, choice and control is not only for those who can say they want it- it is a right for all

Supported Living –is it safe?  Regulations and inspections do not necessarily keep people safe  Being isolated from people that care about is not safe  Having more people involved in your life keeps you safer  Some risks enhance your life and are worth taking

Individualising support Assistive technology? Support Tenant? Intensive domiciliary care? Community Support Volunteer? Live in Supporter ? Floating support? Family support? Social support? Community supports? Independence training? Healthcare/ nursing? Cleaning &Cooking?

The Reach standards in supported living  I choose who I live with  I choose where I live  I have my own home  I choose how I am supported  I choose who supports me  I get good support  I choose my friends and relationships  I choose how to be healthy and safe  I choose how to take part in my community  I have the same rights and responsibilities as other citizens  I get help to make changes in my life
