She is inspiring because she worked hard to get back to singing and acting after she went through throat surgery. From her movies and interviews she seems to be kind-hearted and sweet. “If you hold on to your words, your voice will pull through for you when you're singing. She was very PROACTIVE pursuing many starring roles a t a young age By 19 years old she played the lead role in Broadway’s “The Boyfriend”. Sung in “My Fair Lady” and “Camelot” on stage. Played the lead role in the classic movies “Mary Poppins” and “The Sound of Music”. Played lead role in the movie Victor Victoria, and also on the Broadway Show. In 1999 she was honored by the queen. Won the Academy Award for best actress in “Mary Poppins” and was nominated for her role in “The Sound of Music”. Nominated for a Tony Award for her roles in “Camelot” and “My Fair Lady”. Julie Andrews believed that working hard and perseverance was an important thing to do in life and that if you put your mind and your heart to something that you could surely accomplish it. Also she believed that family VALUES was an important factor in anyone’s life and that you should be supportive of your family. Andrews said that she is thankful for her families support and sacrifices during the earlier years of her career. She believed that if you want to do something with your life then you should have a great passion for it and love to do whatever you choose, just like she had a passion for singing and acting. She had vision she paved the way the movie industry and a female’s role. VALUES

Julie Andrews is a good MENTOR because she had a passion for her career of singing and acting. She shows perseverance and strength and character because after her role in Victor Victoria she had to get throat surgery and she worked hard after that surgery to get back into her acting and singing although her voice was never as strong. She VALUES the power of family and was appreciative of her families sacrifices for her career. Andrews is involved in the charity organization Save the Children and the Foundation for Heredity Disease. In addition to her charity work she has authored several books for children. A GOOD MENTOR
