Alleluia, Alleluia, Christ is with us, We are blessed with the earth. And so we gather. In the name of the Father…

Morning has broken, like the first morning Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird Praise for the singing, praise for the morning Praise for the springing fresh from the word Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven Like the first dewfall, on the first grass Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden Sprung in completeness where his feet pass Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning Born of the one light, Eden saw play Praise with elation, praise every morning God's recreation of the new day

You show us how to help others. Lord Have mercy. Lord, have mercy. You show us how to listen to others. Christ have mercy Christ, have mercy. You show us how to love one another. Lord have mercy Lord, have mercy. Helena

God of love, open our ears to listen to your word. Lead us to help one another and to live our lives as you ask us to. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen. Amen. Alexandra

Alleluia, Alleluia

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew Glory to you, Lord This is The Gospel of the Lord the Lord Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ

Alleluia, Alleluia

Why do you think the man was disappointed in both his sons? Can you think of a time when someone asked you to do something? Did you do it? Or did you just say you would do it? When God asks us live like Jesus, do we always follow his words and actions? The man Jesus talked about in the Gospel is God, asking us to live our lives like Jesus.

A farmer who plants and cares for his crops will be rewarded with a healthy and plentiful harvest. If we take the time to think about our actions, and care and listen to others, we will be rewarded by our friendships and our successes throughout our lives. To help us remember this, I would like one person from each class to bring a Harvest offering to the focal point. While the children are bringing up the offerings, please reflect on whether you plant seeds of love and compassion in your life.

Let us give thanks to God during this Harvest time and pray for those who do not have enough. Lord hear our prayer. The response is sung, Lord hear our prayer. We pray for world leaders: that they may continue to strive towards peace and tranquillity on our earth. Lord hear our prayer. We pray for our brothers and sisters around the world: that with the money we raise today they will be able to grow and produce the food that they need to live healthy lives. Lord hear our prayer. We pray for our parish, family and friends: that we may treat the earth and all that is in it with respect, never taking more than we need. Lord hear our prayer.

Knowing that our heavenly Father is listening, Please give thanks to the food that blesses our tables every day.

Let us say this prayer together Blessed God, May we remember to live our lives like your son Jesus. Just as farmers plant seeds to grow food, may we plant seeds to grow love, joy and forgiveness. Amen.

Think of a world without any flowers, think of a wood without any trees, think of a sky without any sunshine, think of the air without any breeze: we thank you, Lord, for flowers and trees and sunshine; we thank you, Lord, and praise your holy name. Think of a world without any people, think of a street with no-one living there, think of a town without any houses, no-one to love and nobody to care: we thank you, Lord, for families and friendships; we thank you, Lord, and praise your holy name. Thanks to our Lord for being here among us, thanks be to him for sharing all we do, thanks for our church and all the love we find here, thanks for this place and all its promise true: we thank you, Lord, for life in all its richness; we thank you, Lord, and praise your holy name

Always show others love and compassion. What you plant now, you will harvest later.
