Mission Life Native American Life The Chumash people lived in this mission. Their schedules are the same as any other mission schedules. At dawn, the church bells would wake up the Chumash tribe to pray and do mass at the church. After that, they would go eat breakfast. They would eat atole and drank hot chocolate. After they would eat breakfast, the Chumash people would do their morning chores. The children would help their parents or learn from the missionaries. Missionary Life The missionaries would teach the Chumash tribe to do their job and teach the children how to help their parents and do other jobs. All day long, the missionaries would help the Natives.
