SENIOR CLUBBING IN POLAND AND CROATIA - first (and still only one!) Croatian Grundtvig Volunteer project for seniors Partners Narodno sveučilište Dubrava, Zagreb, HR / coordinator Ośrodek Kultury Ochoty (OKO), Warsaw, PL / partner Topic - Connecting two senior clubs within the two similar centers for culture. - non-formal education of seniors through volunteer work in the culture - learning, teacging and helping activities (workshops, festivals, cultural events, themed tours, arts camps) under the themes: traditional culture, art and culture, communication and relaxation 12 volunteers on mobilities - aged 50 years, 6 from each institution local inhabitants inlcuded in the project activities 6 volonteer periods - 3 volunteer periods in each country - duration of volunteer period: 3 – 4 weeks October – Warsaw November/December – Zagreb June – Zagreb // October 2012 – Warsaw June Warsaw and Zagreb (connection of volunteers) NUMBERS : 12 senior volunteers spend volunteer hours and include cca 500 locals in cultural activities in two countries (PL, HR) Grundtvig senior volunteer project

WITH THIS PROJECT WE WANT: - to make platform for inter-generational learning and volunteering through & for culture and ecology - to show power of synergy and cooperation on EU level between organizations devoted to education, culture and environmental protection PROJECT TARGET GROUP ARE: - senior learners of programmes held in our institutions in inter-generational framework - adult educators and staff members Grundtvig learning partnership THIS IS US! OUR PLACE, OUR CULTURE! - the best GRU LP application on call for proposal in 2012.

Center of the project is local "eco&culture volunteer group“ in each institution! Through the eco&culture volunteer group we make volunteering, non-formal learning activities and mobilities. Non-formal learning periods are: 1. learning and teaching about EU countries before meetings 2. learning and teaching during international meetings 3. transfer of knowledge through local society by volunteering after eu meetings. NUMBERS 2012 – 2014: - at least 104 volunteers and 52 staff members are involved in realisation of the project! ... results and benefits - development of new local programmes based on volunteering (senior volunteer club, exchange of knowledge through workshops, lectures, self-organization of the local population during the visit of international participants) - better cooperation within the institution, volunteering of staff members - integration of students of different age groups and programs through common volunteering - joint design, recommendation and implementation of new socio-cultural programs - personal and profesional growth of volunteers and staff members involved in the process (acquisition of new knowledge and skills, flexibility) - increase self-confidence and self-esteem through socialization in a creative environment - happier and more satisfied local community - establishment of the Volunteer club Dubrava according to the national low for volunteering This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
