Late 1980’s the State of Utah deregulated the GT industry, changing the regulated number of five shared ride van providers plus hotel shuttles charter coach operators and taxicabs to a growth of over eighty companies in the early 1990’s. This number has continued to grow along with the population and airport rider ship to nearly one hundred and fifty registered GT providers. First GT enforcement section started in 1990 with six volunteer Police Officers.
