BULLYING UK Anti-Bullying Week November 2013 is calling on children and young people to take the lead on creating a future without bullying - using new technologies to promote positive communication rather than being held back by cyberbullying #ABW2013. To get ready for Anti-Bullying Week, Bullying UK, part of Family Lives, launched an anti-bullying campaing consisting of three competitions for pupils to get involved in.

BULLYING UK There is no legal definition of bullying. But it is usually defined as repeated behaviour which is intended to hurt someone either emotionally or physically, and is often aimed at certain people because of their race, religion, gender or sexual orientation or any other aspect such as appearance or disability. Bullying can take many forms including: physical assault teasing making threats name calling cyber bullying Bullying can happen anywhere: at school, travelling to and from school, in sporting teams, between neighbours or in the workplace.sportingworkplace

BULLYING UK What is cyber bullying? Cyber bullying is bullying through a mobile phone or online (eg by , instant messanger or on social network sites). Cyber bullying is just as serious. Read more about cyber bullying. cyber bullying.

BULLYING UK How to deal with bullying at school If you are being bullied at school, tell a friend, tell a teacher and tell your parents. It won't stop unless you do. It can be hard to do this so if you don't feel you can do it in person it might be easier to write a note to your parents explaining how you feel, or perhaps confide in someone outside the immediate family, like a grandparent, aunt, uncle or cousin and ask them to help you tell your parents what's going on.

TEENBOUNDARIES Our Teen Boundaries project aims to prevent sexual bullying and promotes positive gender relationships by challenging attitudes and promoting tolerance, understanding and cohesion between young people.

TEENBOUNDARIES DELIVERY TO PUPILS We have a programme of 5 x one hour lessons which we deliver to single sex and mixed groups, aged 11 to 18 years. Lesson 3: The effect of Cyber world Lesson 4: Positive gender relationships Lesson 5: Sexual violence

TEENBOUNDARIES WORKSHOPS FOR PROFESSIONALS In addition to our direct delivery lessons to pupils, we are able to offer two workshops for professionals.  A one-day awareness raising training for school staff on sexual bullying. the causes and effects of early sexualisation, the use of sexualised language and bullying. In addition we will look at the effect of Cyber world; Sexting/Internet (porn-fantasy and reality) and how it adds to the issues of sexualised bullying, positive gender relationships and sexual violence; myths and facts, safety tips and awareness.  A two-day Train the Trainer package, including delivery materials, to enable staff to deliver 5 x one hour topic specific lessons to their pupils, embedding the key messages into the curriculum.
