Trees in numbers Maths lesson in 8.A Základní škola, Klášterec nad Ohří, Krátká 676, the Czech Republic

We counted the age of trees.

What is the height of the tree? Can you see our school trees ?

The width of the Ohře river is 104 m and it is 297m above the sea level, the walls of the castle are 302 m above the sea level and they are 3 m high. How many trees would the conquerors need to get the castle? They could use trees from forests round the town. These trees were 30 m tall.

You can see very old trees in CR ( Bohemian-Moravian Highlands), one of them is the King´s Linden tree in Klokočov which is about 900 years old.

The highest Spruce tree in CR is „těmpínský smrk“. Its height is about m and its trunk is 70 cm in diameter.

The Linden tree in Jiřice, its perimeter is from 785 to 828 cm.

“Mikulovice Linden tree“ near our town is 18 m high and its perimetr is 941 cm and it is about 400 years old.
