What Makes Up a Topographical Region? Its geographic regions Rivers

The 5 Main Geographic Regions: Appalachian Plateau Valley and Ridge Blue Ridge Piedmont Coastal Plain

Appalachian Plateau In the far Northwest corner of Georgia. Smallest region of Georgia. People can go hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, etc.

Ridge and Valley Located in the Northwestern part of Georgia. Has steep river valleys. Few people live here Has lots of forests.

Blue Ridge Highest mountain peak is located here. Brasstown Bald Marble and gold are two natural resources. Cherokee Indians once lived in these mountains. Located in the Northeastern part of Georgia.

Piedmont Means “foot of the mountains.” Has the most people. Atlanta is located in this region. Known for its red clay.

Coastal Plains The wetland Okefenokee Swamp is located here. Largest region in Ga. Fall line separates this region.
