Assembly of Conductivity Flow Loop EAS 199B living with the lab (in preparation for calibrating conductivity sensor)

living with the lab Mount Pump Drill pilot hole with #42 bit. Drill into a solid part of the pump. Orient the pump as shown with exit facing far side of system. Use 1” long, #6 sheet metal screw

living with the lab Wiring Tips VDC power supply pump 12VDC power to Arduino from breadboard (just use 22 gage wire & plug into Vin and GND pins) 5VDC power from Arduino back to breadboard (just use 22 gage wire & plug into 5V and GND pins) switch Use a 12V DC power supply capable of supplying 1.5A; no other power source will be needed. This schematic shows a switch to power the pump and a switch to power the breadboard. Adding these switches makes it more convenient to test and troubleshoot your system. The Arduino can be powered by running 22 gage wires from the 12V bus terminal on the breadboard to the Vin and GND pins on the Arduino; no barrel jack to power the Arduino is necessary. Then, 5V power can be run from the Arduino back to the breadboard. This setup provides a 5V bus terminal on the left and a 12V bus terminal on the right to conveniently provide power to the various circuits needed for the fishtank system.
