Integration – possibilities & facts The Polish state until now hasn’t defined yet in any act range of adaptation or social integration of foreigners in our nation. The only group with special status are refugees.

JOB Opportunities for foreigners to work in Lublin region Job placement related to free movement of workers within the European Union Member States and EEA countries outside the European UNION Labour Office carries out only by the EURES network. A foreigner who comes from outside the European Union and wants to work in Poland must have a work permit. Total sum up in 2014 has so far issued 6,038 licenses to race in the region of Lublin. Most contracts were signed for a period of six months. People aged received the largest number of licenses until 2379, and the smallest number got elderly aged 65 Foreigners in Poland are mostly employed for simple jobs, e.g. in gastronomic, construction or agriculture sectors. Foreign citizens also often find their jobs in management of foreign companies, as translators or foreign language teachers. Some of them are employed as housekeepers. Average salary of foreign construction workers are about 2800,00zł (about 670 €), teachers – 3300,00zł (about 790 €) and nurses 2000,00zł (about 480 €).

A foreigner who resides on the territory of the Republic of Poland without the required visa, a permit for a fixed period, a permit to settle or a long term resident’s EC residence permit, and also work or conducts economic activity not in conformity with the regulations of law in force in the Republic of Poland risks expulsion from the territory of the Republic of Poland with no possibilities of re-entry into the country for a period of 3 to 5 years.

Accommodation for students Accommodation at university campus accommodation places for foreign students in 5 student residence halls belonging to Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. The fees vary depending on the standard of the roomThree-bedded rooms: PLN 285 per month (approximately 70€ - depending on euro exchange rate), double rooms: PLN 305 per month (approximately 73-75€) Accommodation in TBV dormitory Cost of accommodation for single room: 900 PLN (215€), for twin room: 500 PLN (120€) per month.

LANGUAGE & EDUCATION Opportunities for foreigners to study in Poland and learn Polish Children of foreigners which subject compulsory schooling in Poland learn and have care provided in public primary and high school on the same rights as Polish citizens. Each child of foreigners can attend to nursery school, primary school and high school. This also applies to children foreigners who staying in Poland illegally.

Learning the Polish language for foreigners in Lublin The Polish Language and Culture Centre for Polish People from Abroad and Foreigners (UMCS) which offers the following types of courses: I. Summer School of the Polish Language and Culture 2014 for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students. II. New afternoon Polish language course for beginners III. One – year preparatory course for foreign students who wish to study in Poland

CULTURE (Opportunities for foreigners to participate in cultural life in Lublin) Foreigners gladly attend different kind of events and projects organized in our Lublin region. Religions in Lublin: the most widespread religion is Christianity in Lublin covering about 90% of the population in the Lublin in second place in religions are Orthodox - it is about 1000 people another religion after Orthodox is Judaism and next Protestantism In addition to these religions are also trace amounts of other religions- Muslims, Buddhists or other branches of the Catholic Church Although religion in Lublin is very dominated by Christians Lublin is a very tolerant city, that is located in the mosque despite the very trace amount of Muslims
