PASTOR DAVID BROWN JR. “BACK TO THE BASICS” “Pray and Things Will Change” James 5:13-18

God Answers When We Pray The Word of God is very CLEAR that we must PRAY in order to get anything from God. (James 4:2) “Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” NKJV God knows all things, but he will not act if we do not take the time to ask him what we want. God is moved by our prayers. Pastor David Brown Jr.

God Answers When We Pray When we ask… Souls are saved. We are healed. We get jobs. Situations are changed. Families get saved. Peace in the world. Peace in our homes. Pastor David Brown Jr.

God Answers When We Pray Spiritual strong holds come down. Revival happens. God changes the world. So lets Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray and things will change! Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change One of the things that the Apostle James talks about in his letter is the “power of prayer”. He first tells us to ask in faith.  (James 1:6,7) “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (v. 7) For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, he a double-minded man unstable in all his ways.” Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change God will answer our prayers if we believe what we are asking him for. Each one of us should be able to say I have prayed and God has answered my prayers. Our lives should be a testimony of the “Power of Prayer.” Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things will Change James 5:13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. The Faithlife Study Bible says …“Is anyone among you suffering misfortune?” You may be suffering many things such as financial lost, broken marriage, trying to make ends meet, or some injustice, etc. Things will change when we pray. Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change James 5:14.. “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (Vs. 15) And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” People get sick for different reasons. Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change Sometimes we are attacked by germs that are in the air. We may get sick because we do not eat right or rest like we should. James says sickness may be due to sin. Examine yourself, and call for the elders of the church to pray with you. Paul deals with the same subject in I Cor. 11: Pray and Repent. God will heal you! Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change The prayer of faith will bring healing and at the same time God will forgive our sins. Bad things happen when we do not obey God. God has given us a way to be helped if we are willing to take it. Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change James 5:16.. “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” He is not saying for you to confess to everybody in the church but to your leadership and let them pray over you. Pastor David Brown Jr.

Pray and Things Will Change James 5:16: “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Each one of us are human just like Elijah and he prayed and things changed. God will do the same for us. Pray with conviction. Believe what you ask for and things will change! Pastor David Brown Jr.
