1 Psalm 121

2 Anticipation of help Look up for help
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? Psalm 121:1

3 Anticipation of help 6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 10:6

4 Anticipation of help Assured of help
My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:2

5 Anticipation of help 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

6 Assurance of help He will not allow him to fall or stumble
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:3-4

7 Assurance of help 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

8 Assurance of help He will protect and preserve him day and night
The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

9 Assurance of help He will protect and preserve him day and night
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalm 121:5-8

10 Assurance of help 22 Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22

11 Lessons for us today. The Christian must think positive when in prayer. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

12 Lessons for us today. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. James 5:13-18

13 Lessons for us today. God assures us of His help.
11 Give us help from trouble, For the help of man is useless. Psalm 60:11

14 Conclusion 1. Christians would do well to pray to God in expectation and with assurance of help from Him. 2. Our prayers to God must be made in expectation of receiving an answer from God.
