Turkish National Education System has two main parts: Formal Education Non-formal Education

FORMAL EDUCATION COVERS THE INSTITUONS OF PRE PRIMARY EDUCATION PRIMARY SCHOOL SECONDARY SCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL HIGHER EDUCATION

PRE-PRIMARY EDUCATION Pre-school education is optional and covers children who have not yet reached the age of entry to primary education.

PRIMARY EDUCATION PRIMARY EDUCATION Primary Education, which is free at all state schools, is for the education of children between the ages of 5 and 10, and it is compulsory for all. 5 and 10, and it is compulsory for all.

Primary Education The primary education program includes:  mathematics,  social studies, science, civics and human rights,  the history of the Turkish Republic and Atatürk's reforms,  music, art/handicraft, physical education  a foreign language (English, French or German),  individual and group activities,  religious culture and ethics,  traffic safety and first aid,  career guidance, and elective courses. Secondary School Education With a new Law in 2012, four years of Secondary school is also compulsory today. After finishing the Primary school, the students between the ages of 10 and 14 continue the Secondary school. They study Turkish, Social Science, Science and Technology, Maths, Foreign Language, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Religion Culture, Techonology Designing and optional subjects.

When the students finish the secondary school, they get their Document of Complement (according to the new system) and can go for the High education.

HIGH EDUCATION General and VET Secondary Schools: Length of programs in years: 4 Age level from: 14 to 18 Diploma Awarded: High School
