3 Main activities CMS “Discovery Centre” (exhibition on the Meyrin site) –First ideas presented in Milan –Some new ideas following the ECSITE meeting –Shortage of finances  looking towards sponsorship –Aim to make major progress in 2010 Make CMS data available to students (see later today) LHC restart….

4 CMS Plans for LHC restart (1) CMS Control Room (at point 5)  By default, no press allowed inside the Control Room - We may consider (exceptional) pre-arranged media requests - Exception: access for official CERN & CMS photographers  Fixed video camera permanently running in CR - Video stream is (CMS) Webcast continuously to CMS Centres Worldwide (TBC) – but not the audio except during the interviews - Scheduled updates by CMS spokesperson / TC / RC – video and audio stream on CMS Webcast. Fed into CERN Webcast.  CMS media contact person in Control Room - On-call to arrange scheduled video interview updates - Control of “live” event display stream for CMS Centres – (being discussed) - Production and release of “official” event display images for press (animated clips for TV if at all possible plus high quality jpeg)
